As we begin a new calendar year, it’s a good time to look back at parish operations and make any necessary corrections and adjustments for the future. Here at the Shrine, a recently concluded review by the Archdiocese of Detroit identified some concerns regarding administrative and financial practices. To help us address these matters, the Archdiocese is providing some specialized, on-site oversight of the parish business office for the next few months.
You’re invited to join thousands of Catholics nationwide in prayer for the respect of human life during a special novena called 9 Days for Life. Visit 9daysforlife.com to sign up to receive daily intentions from January 19th through the 27th.
Please note parish offices will be closed Friday, December 23 to Tuesday, December 27. Offices will also be closed Friday, December 30 - Monday, January 1.
Currently our phone lines are down. AT&T has been working to restore service. There is a problem with the lines coming into the building. At this time there is no ETA for service to be restored. Email and the internet connections are NOT affected by this outage. We apologize for this disruption and are working to get phone service restored as quickly as possible.
Please help us extend our generous love as a Parish family to the poor again this Advent beginning November 14. Our donations and outreach will include fellow Detroit churches in need, local programs for the homeless, pregnancy crisis centers, and other persons in need.
You can ensure that your loved one is released from Purgatory! You may offer one plenary indulgence daily for the dead, from November 1 to November 8. So, you can free 9 loved ones from Purgatory this November! “Plenary” means “full or complete” and an “Indulgence” is a graced work that erases all temporal punishment due to sin; that is, it erases all Purgatory time.
